• The outer bread represents the West, while the inside (anko) represents Japan, symbolizing a balance between cultures

Anpanman embodies kindness and self-sacrifice. Even though he loses strength by giving a piece of his face (which is made of anpan) to those in need, he never hesitates to help. At the same time, he never gives up the fight against evil.

Yanase once said:

“True justice is never glamorous, and it always comes with pain. But feeding the hungry is an absolute act of justice, no matter where you are in the world.”

今回は子どもたちに大人気の日本を代表するアニメ、アンパンマンを紹介します！

国民的アニメ　アンパンマン

テレビで毎週金曜日の午前中にやっている超国民的アニメです。

1973年に初めて出版された『あんぱんまん』。

それからずっとアンパンマンの世界は続いています。

50代で「アンパンマン」が大ヒットする以前のやなせたかしは売れない作家であり、空腹を抱えながら「食べ物が向こうからやって来たらいいのに」と思っていたそうです。こういった事情が「困っている人に食べ物を届けるヒーロー」という発想につながった。

アンパンマンと「正義」というテーマについて、やなせは端的に「『正義の味方』だっ

たら、まず、食べさせること。飢えを助ける。」と述べている。

さらに主人公をあんパンにした理由を「あんぱんは日持ちがする。そして外の皮はパン=西洋、内側はあんこ=純日本。見た目は西洋でも心は日本人である。」と解説しています。

空腹の者に顔の一部を与えることで、悪者と戦う力が落ちると分かっていても、目の前

の人を見捨てることはしない。かつそれでありながら、たとえどんな敵が相手でも戦いも

放棄しない。

「ほんとうの正義というものは、けっしてかっこうのいいものでは ないし、そしてそのためにかならず自分も深く傷つくものです」と語っている。「飢えている人に食べ物を差し出す行為は、立場が変わっても国が違っても「正しいこと」に変わりません。絶対的な正義なのです。」と語っています。
