日本の子どもは彼らにお世話にならない人はいないと思います。我が家でもお世話になっています（笑）

今回は子どもたちに大人気の日本を代表するアニメ、アンパンマンを紹介します！

I believe there isn’t a single child in Japan who hasn’t been taken care of by the characters from “Anpanman.” My family also relies on them (haha).

This time, I’ll introduce “Anpanman,” a popular anime that represents Japan and is beloved by children everywhere!

アンパンマンとは？What is Anpanman?

It’s an ultra-popular national anime that airs every Friday morning on TV.

The original “Anpanman” was first published in 1973, and since then, the world of Anpanman has continued to thrive.

Before the massive success of “Anpanman” in his 50s, Takashi Yanase was a struggling artist who often went hungry. He once thought, “It’d be great if food came to me.” This experience led to the concept of a hero who delivers food to those in need.

When discussing the theme of “justice” in Anpanman, Yanase simply stated, “If you’re going to be a ‘hero of justice,’ the first thing you should do is feed people. Help those who are hungry.”

In another interview, he emphasized again that “the ultimate form of justice is giving food to the hungry.” He also explained why the protagonist is modeled after an anpan (a sweet red bean bun): “Anpan lasts a long time. The outer layer is bread, which represents the West, and the filling is anko (sweet bean paste), which represents Japan. It looks Western, but its heart is Japanese.”

Even though Anpanman loses his strength by giving part of his face to those who are hungry, he never abandons the people in front of him. At the same time, he never gives up fighting, no matter who his enemy is.

Regarding these aspects, Yanase said, “True justice isn’t something that looks cool, and it’s something that always deeply wounds you.” He added, “Offering food to the hungry is a ‘right action’ that doesn’t change regardless of one’s position or nationality. It is absolute justice.”

Anpanman is a hero of justice with a gentle heart.

テレビで毎週金曜日の午前中にやっている超国民的アニメです。

1973年に初めて出版された『あんぱんまん』。

それからずっとアンパンマンの世界は続いています。

50代で「アンパンマン」が大ヒットする以前のやなせたかしは売れない作家であり、空腹を抱えながら「食べ物が向こうからやって来たらいいのに」と思っていたそうです。こういった事情が「困っている人に食べ物を届けるヒーロー」という発想につながった。

アンパンマンと「正義」というテーマについて、やなせは端的に「『正義の味方』だったら、まず、食べさせること。飢えを助ける。」と述べている。

また別のインタビューでも、やはり「究極の正義とは飢えている人に食べ物を与えることである」と述べている。さらに主人公をあんパンにした理由を「あんぱんは日持ちがする。そして外の皮はパン=西洋、内側はあんこ=純日本。見た目は西洋でも心は日本人である。」と解説している。

空腹の者に顔の一部を与えることで、悪者と戦う力が落ちると分かっていても、目の前の人を見捨てることはしない。かつそれでありながら、たとえどんな敵が相手でも戦いも放棄しない。

これらの点について「ほんとうの正義というものは、けっしてかっこうのいいものでは ないし、そしてそのためにかならず自分も深く傷つくものです」と語っている。「飢えている人に食べ物を差し出す行為は、立場が変わ っても国が違っても「正しいこと」に変わりません。絶対的な正義なのです。」と語っています。

アンパンマンは、そんな優しい気持ちを持つ正義のヒーローです。
