でも、いざ働こうと思っても「どんな仕事を選べばいい？」「履歴書ってどう書くの？」「保育園はどうなるの？」と不安になりますよね。

But when it’s time to actually start working, many wonder, “What kind of job should I choose?”, “How do I write my resume?”, or “What about daycare?”

この記事では、日本のママたちがどのようにパートを始めているのか、その流れをわかりやすく紹介します！

パートを始める前に考えること / Things to Consider Before Starting a Part-Time Job

• 家庭のスケジュール（登園・お迎え・家事とのバランス）
  Family schedule (drop-off, pick-up, and housework balance)

 

• 週に何日働けるか、何時間働けるか
  How many days and hours you can work per week

 

• 通勤距離、職場の雰囲気、急な休みへの理解度
  Commute distance, workplace atmosphere, and understanding about sudden absences

 

• 「扶養内」で働きたいか、「しっかり収入を得たいか」
  Whether you want to work within the tax-free “spouse deduction” range or earn a steady income

人気のパート職種（主婦・ママ向け）/ Popular Part-Time Jobs for Moms

• 食品加工やスーパーのレジ
  Food processing or cashier work at supermarkets
  私は今回、食品加工のパートです！休みがとりやすく、周りもママたちが多いので理解もしてくれます。
  I’m working in food processing now! It’s flexible, and most coworkers are also moms, so they understand family situations.

• 保育補助、清掃、事務、飲食店
  Daycare assistant, cleaning staff, clerical work, or restaurants

• 子どもの成長に合わせてステップアップする例も

保育園との両立・注意点　/ Balancing Work and Daycare

• 子供を預けるには「就労証明書」が必要
  You need a “Certificate of Employment” (Shūro Shōmeisho) to use daycare.

保育園を利用する（2・3号認定）には就労証明書が必要です。

To enroll your child in daycare (Type 2 or 3 certification), this document is required.

内定証明書でもよいので、それを書いてもらいましょう。

Some cities also accept a “job offer letter.”

 

それがないと申請ができなかったりポイントが低くなってしまいます。

Without it, your application may be rejected or receive fewer priority points.

 

• 勤務時間や日数の条件によって認定区分が変わる
  Certification types depend on your monthly working hours.

 

 

• 子どもの病気や行事などによる急な休み対応
  Handling sudden absences due to sickness or school events

子どもは風邪をもらいやすいので、急な休みが出ることもあります。

Kids often catch colds or need sudden care days.

理解ある職場を選び、面接時にしっかり話しておきましょう。

Choose a workplace that understands this, and talk about it openly during the interview.

履歴書の書き方のポイント　/ How to Write a Resume for Part-Time Work

• 空白期間は「子育てのため」と正直に書いてOK
  It’s totally fine to write “childcare period” for employment gaps.

 

• 志望動機は「家庭と両立できる範囲で長く働きたい」など誠実に。
  Be honest in your motivation: “I wish to work long-term while balancing family life.”

• 嘘をつかず、家庭優先を伝えることが大切。
  Honesty builds trust—make it clear that your family is your priority.

 

• パート用の写真や服装も重要。
  For photos, no need for a black suit! Just clean, neat clothes with a collared shirt.
  You can take resume photos at machines in supermarkets or city halls across Japan.

パートを始めてからのリアル　/ The Reality After Starting a Part-Time Job

• 人間関係、体力、子どもの体調不良
  Relationships, physical fatigue, and kids’ health issues—these are real challenges.

私は「無理せず、頑張り過ぎない」を意識しています。

I try not to overdo it or stand out too much.

一番大切なのは子ども。その気持ちをわかってくれる上司や仲間がいると救われます。

The most important thing is my child—and having coworkers who understand that really helps.

• 「最初の3ヶ月」は無理しない
  Don’t push yourself too hard during the first three months.

 

• 家族の協力の大切さ
  Family support is everything.

面接のときも子どもを預けたり、夫にお願いしたり。

Even attending interviews requires teamwork with your partner.

「ママが離れることは寂しいことではない」

Tell your child: “It’s not sad that Mommy goes to work—it’s exciting to share what happened at school later!”
